The electromagnetic vibrating feeder is mainly used to quantitatively, uniformly and continuously feed bulk or powdery materials from a storage bin or a hopper to a receiving device. It has no rotating parts, no lubrication, simple structure, light weight, small driving force, can adjust feeding during operation, convenient maintenance and inspection, small slot wear and easy to implement automatic control and so on, so it is widely used. This article shares precautions and maintenance recommendations for electromagnetic vibrating feeders.

Installation Precautions

  1. The electromagnetic vibrating feeder does not need to be disassembled. It can be installed in the working position directly according to the dimensions given in the installation drawing. Before installation, the tightening of the screws in the various parts of the vibrator must be checked. The coupling screws of the slot body and the coupling fork are tightened one by one. The top tension screw of the leaf spring must be retightened before installation, otherwise it will affect the tuning value of the feeder vibration. The air gap between the iron core and the armature should be checked and adjusted to 1.8~2.1mm. The iron core and the armature plane should be kept parallel and clean. Then tighten the adjusting bolts and fixing bolts of the iron core frame one by one. The splint bolts of the coil should also be tightened to prevent the coil from loosening.
  2. In order for the machine to work stably and the material to be transported accurately, the vibrating force of the vibrator must be directed through the center of gravity of the trough body.
  3. The wire feeder is used for the suspender of the feeder, and the frame supporting the hanger should have sufficient rigidity. If the frame has obvious beating phenomenon, it will affect the normal operation of the feeder. The booms along the length of the feeder should be vertical, while the booms in the width can be tilted outwards by 10бу each.
  4. The feeding and discharging chutes that are matched with the feeder tank should leave a certain movement gap, generally about 25mm. The feed and discharge chutes must not collide with the feeder so as not to affect the vibration of the feeder and produce noise.
  5. Do not allow excessive pressure on the feeder's tank body (usually pressure on the tank should be less than the 1/4 to 1/5 vertical projection of the bin discharge port silo pressure) , otherwise it will reduce the amplitude of the feeder, thereby reducing the material delivery speed.
  6. After the feeder is installed at a given position, check whether the horizontal direction of the tank is horizontal, otherwise the material will shift to one side during the conveying process.
  7. The feeder body and the control box cabinet should be grounded according to the general electrical equipment installation procedures.
  8. After the electromagnetic vibrating feeder is installed, the inspection screws on the upper and lower sides of the vibrator housing should be loosened (use it to adjust and fix the coupling position during inspection), otherwise it will hinder the vibration of the feeder.

Adjustment Test Run

After the electromagnetic vibration feeder is installed, it must be commissioned without load. The adjusted vibrator should be operated continuously for 8 hours under the conditions of rated voltage, current and amplitude. During operation, the amplitude and current values should be stable except for the natural fluctuations of the grid voltage.
